How we identify pressings

The runout groove tells the real story. We read matrix and stamper codes, check label variants, sleeve credits and catalogue numbers, and note printed inners, lyric booklets and posters where they are present — the details that separate a first pressing from a later reissue.

Selling a rare collection?

We buy collections outright and take consignments on a 50/50 split, handling grading, photography and listing for you.

Rare vinyl FAQs

What counts as a rare vinyl record?
Scarcity comes from limited pressings, early first pressings, withdrawn sleeves, coloured vinyl and promo copies. We flag matrix codes and pressing details so you can identify exactly which version you are getting.
How do you authenticate pressings?
We read the matrix and runout codes etched into the deadwax and cross-check labels, sleeve variants and catalogue numbers before listing.
Do you ship rare records safely?
Collectable records are packed with the vinyl outside the sleeve, in rigid mailers with stiffeners, and sent tracked. Higher-value orders go with signature on delivery.
Do you buy rare vinyl collections?
Yes. We buy collections outright across the East Midlands and can also sell on consignment with a 50/50 split. See the sell page for details.
