Decade crate

80s vinyl records UK

The eighties is the biggest decade in the shop — 3,849 records in stock right now, from new wave and synth-pop to stadium rock, indie and early hip-hop. It was the last decade where vinyl was the default format, so pressings are plentiful and often far cheaper than the same album on a modern reissue. Because every item is an individual second-hand copy, the record photographed is the exact one that arrives.

Each copy is cleaned, inspected and graded by hand before listing, with the vinyl and sleeve graded separately and catalogue or matrix details included where they help identify the pressing. Orders are packed in rigid mailers, sent tracked from Mansfield, and covered by a 60-day returns promise. UK orders over £50 qualify for free postage, so it is worth combining a few records into one parcel.

Buying 1980s vinyl second-hand

Eighties vinyl spent years being undervalued, which means original pressings of big albums are still remarkably affordable — often less than a new reissue, and frequently cut from the original masters. Look out for early UK pressings with glossy sleeves and inner lyric bags, and check the catalogue number on each listing if you are chasing a specific pressing.

80s vinyl FAQs

Are 80s pressings original?
Most of the eighties stock is an original decade pressing rather than a later reissue. Each listing shows the catalogue number and, where useful, matrix details, so you can confirm the pressing before you buy.
How is the condition of a second-hand 80s record graded?
Every copy is inspected and graded by hand — vinyl and sleeve separately. VG+ usually means a clean-playing copy with light wear; VG allows more visible use but should still play through.
Can I combine postage on several 80s LPs?
Yes — postage is worked out on the weight of one parcel and you pick the courier at checkout, so several records in one order keeps the per-record cost down. UK orders over £50 get free postage.
What if the record isn't as described?
Every record is covered by a 60-day returns promise — if a copy is not as described, you can return it for a full refund.
