Decade crate

70s vinyl records UK

The seventies produced some of the most collected records ever pressed — 2,650 in stock right now, spanning classic rock and prog through glam, disco, soul and the first wave of punk. Original seventies pressings are the ones collectors want, and because every item here is an individual second-hand copy, the record photographed is the exact one that arrives.

Each copy is cleaned, inspected and graded by hand before listing, with the vinyl and sleeve graded separately and catalogue or matrix details included where they help identify the pressing. Orders are packed in rigid mailers, sent tracked from Mansfield, and covered by a 60-day returns promise. UK orders over £50 qualify for free postage, so it is worth combining a few records into one parcel.

Buying 1970s vinyl second-hand

Seventies records were often played on heavy equipment for decades, so condition varies enormously between copies of the same album. That is why every listing shows the actual sleeve and labels, and why the grade notes mention the things collectors care about — seam splits, ringwear, surface marks and how the copy plays. Early pressings with textured sleeves and original inners are worth looking out for.

70s vinyl FAQs

Are these original 70s pressings?
Most of the seventies stock is an original decade pressing. Each listing gives the catalogue number and, where useful, matrix details, so you can tell a first pressing from a later reissue before you buy.
How is the condition of a second-hand 70s record graded?
Every copy is inspected and graded by hand — vinyl and sleeve separately. VG+ usually means a clean-playing copy with light wear; VG allows more visible use but should still play through.
Can I combine postage on several 70s LPs?
Yes — postage is worked out on the weight of one parcel and you pick the courier at checkout, so several records in one order keeps the per-record cost down. UK orders over £50 get free postage.
What if the record isn't as described?
Every record is covered by a 60-day returns promise — if a copy is not as described, you can return it for a full refund.
